Why You Should Never Drink Cold Coffee

Now, I myself am not a coffee drinker.  *gasp*  I know, I am the worst.  Even worse, I am going to tell you why I don't drink coffee.  Please, save up the tomatoes to throw at me by the end of the year because I will likely ruin a lot of fun things we all like to do by the end of the year.

But hold up!  I do it, because I care.  I am telling you, because I love you guys and who else is going to tell you if not me?!  You need to know some things about your, many times, overpriced friend coffee.  Me and coffee split up some time ago and I've moved on to bigger and better things.  It's as if the conversation went something like this:

"Listen, it's not that I don't like you coffee, I... I do.  I just.. well, I found sleep now and sleep has really been there for me.  Sleep doesn't ask for a 10th of my paycheck every month.  And my friend water has told me they will be available whenever I want."

In all seriousness, Water is and always be the best thing you can be drinking.  The reason you are needing coffee in fact is that you are not drinking enough water and getting enough sleep.  I also found out that drinking coffee means you feel GREAT for a few hours and before your shift is over it already wore off and I mean really, really wore off.

This roller-coaster your willingly taking your brain on is ongoing.  You think you need coffee because your body has learned to operate on coffee.  Before you drank coffee your body would have been fine (given you've been sleeping right and drinking enough water).  Now, down to the science of what I really wanted to talk about.

The Science:

A study was done on a random group of people meeting two other random groups of people, but with one variable.  Within the groups:

  • The first group of people were given cold coffee
  • The second group was given no coffee
  • The third group was given warm coffee

What was discovered was incredible.  The group of people who had no coffee said they felt like everyone in the cold coffee group were very rude and it was hard to communicate with them.  When they communicated with the warm coffee group they reported that everyone was very kind and had a warm demeanor.

From the reverse side, everyone from the cold coffee group said everyone they talked to seemed rude and abrasive.  And everyone in the warm coffee group said the no coffee group were very kind and gave a warm reception.

In other words, the temperature of coffee affects the brain and how your personality comes off to people!  Did you know that?  Needless to say, that was just one of the many reasons I decided to no longer drink coffee.

We want to do a lot of stuff; we’re not in great shape. We didn’t get a good night’s sleep. We’re a little depressed. Coffee solves all of those problems.

Well, another great week coming to a close.  It feels like so many fantastic things are happening lately and I'm just grateful to be alive every day.  It is fantastic to wake up feeling that way.  I hope you're all doing well and if you're not, please get in contact with me.
